Once upon a time Krug'28 headed my list of the greatest champagne experiences. By the mid 1980s it had been surpassed by the '61 Dom Pérignon, refined, creamy, slightly sweet, with the mouthfilling flavour and persistence of flavour of a great champagne. Last noted prior to a Bordeaux Club dinner hosted by the ninety year old Harry Waugh, January 1995. MB
