First half 18th Century
The rectangular top with moulded cornice above two rows of four drawers each simulated as two drawers, decorated with painted landscape panels in the manner of Jan Both, within moulded rectnagular banding, and divided by foliate mounts, above a long moulded drawer, the stand with a lambrequin frieze and four foliate scrolling lion paw feet joined by scrolling stretchers

Lot Essay

A pair of cabinets of similar feeling exist by repute at the Palace of the Marques de Campo-Franco, Palma de Mallorca, while a cabinet of identical structure and on a stand of identical shape, except for having figure heads to the top of the legs and a back-board with a central mask, from the property of Henry Nyburg was sold, Sotheby's London, 21 January 1977, lot 210.
