The arched case on mahogany plinth, with two latched doors to the sides, glazed trunk door, gilt-metal foliate mounts beneath a circular silvered dial signed J. Sanders Sheffield, with pierced steel hands and sweep centre seconds, the movement with six baluster pillars secured at the backplate with milled nuts, plates with shouldered top and cut out base, Graham-type deadbeat escapement and fourth whhel planted on the backplate and secured with elaborate bridges, all wheels with five crossings, the great wheel mounted on the frontplate and to the side with Harrison's maintaining power, the zinc/steel gridiron pendulum with steel suspension and mounted from the backboard
