The case with re-built bell top flanked by later pineapple finials to the angles, with brass handles to the sides above sound frets cast as radiant cherub masks, the front door with foliate cast quarter frets to the top and flanked by floral strip mounts to the chamfered angles (one lacking), on foliate cast scroll feet, the brass dial with foliate spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, matted centre, the arch with recessed silvered panel bearing spurious signature Vulliamy London, flanked by rings for chime/not chime and an air/a jig/a song/a dance, the triple wire fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour striking on a bell and with music on a nest of twelve bells via a large 3½in. (9cm.) pinned cylinder, pull trip repeat, the backplate engraved overall with foliate scrolls and central floral bouquet
