Emblematic of Astronomy, centred by a blue-enamelled spheroid dial, the twin-train movement striking on a bell, surmounted by a cockerel standing on a map of the world, to the left a classically-draped woman writing on a tablet and to the right, two putti with charts, volumes and compasses, on an oblong-shaped base centred by a cartouche and with oak-leaf frieze, on toupie feet
