BLUE ENAMEL QIANLONG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A DOUBLE SQUARE AND OF THE PERIOD

Finely enamelled to each side of the high shouldered body with a song bird within a lush garden setting, perched on rockwork or bamboo amid roses, narcissus and other flowers, all within a scalloped rim frame reserved on a yellow ground enriched with a dense peony-scroll, repeated as a band below the rim, with a pair of gilt bronze phoenix handles flanking the waisted trumpet neck further decorated with plantain leaves below borders of red and blue scrolls (small enamel losses overpainted)
