"LOUISVILLE SLUGGER" LETTER
An original letter dated September 4, 1915 from the J.F. Hillerich & Son Co. to Joe Jackson. Typed on green "Louisville Slugger" stationary featuring photographic images of Joe Jackson, Eddie Collins, Frank Baker, Ty Cobb, Napoleon Lajoie, Tris Speaker and Honus Wagner. The letter discusses Joe Jacksons decision to play with a lighter bat. J.A. Hillerich, President of "Louisville Slugger" responds, "We note you have reduced the weight...it makes it a very hard proposition to get good driving wood in the weights that you now desire." Hillerich goes on to say that he has personally picked out three bats for Joe which he has sent via "Wells Fargo Express".
