A FINE AUSTRIAN SILVER-GILT, LAPIS LAZULI, ENAMEL AND ROCK CRYSTAL CASKET

In the Renaissance style, rectangular on four turtles supports, the base with panelling enclosing jewelled medallions, with caryatids at the corners and supporting rock crystal twisted columns with wirework surmounted by figures of knights and warriors and mermaids blowing trumpets at the corners, the casket pierced with niches enclosing classical figures with attributes in the round, the slanted upper part with similar jewelled medallions and atlantes at intervals, the hinged cover surmounted by a seated couple in exotic costumes holding a dog on a leash, with original suede-lined leather case, marked on casket and cover
