by Charles Le Bastier, marked, Paris, 1784, with the charge and discharge marks of Henry Clavel
Oval box, the cover and base engine-turned with panels of concentrical reeding scattered with flowerheads and pellets, the sides with similarly embellished guilloché of horizontal reeding, the borders decorated with bands of trailing leaves, berries and ovolos chased in two-colour gold on frosted bands within a rope border, the cover and base centred by a circular medallion decorated with a sunburst motif, the four side pilasters chased with two-colour gold festoons
