Maker's mark of Gabriel Schmidt, Augsburg, circa 1630
On domed circular base with chased lobes with matting between, the stem with applied openwork scrolling foliage, the baluster bowl chased with lobes and bosses, the similarly chased cover with shaped border alternatively chased with flutes and beading, the finial formed as a vase of columbines with calyx below, the interior set with a medal dated 1521, marked on base, bowl and cover
