Maker's mark of Johann Christian Neuss, Augsburg, 1781-1783
In the Louis XV style, the oval stands each on four fluted bracket feet, the borders chased with quatrefoils in running scrolls, the slightly raised centres chased with husks in flutes and paterae with gadrooned centre, the detachable urn-shaped partly fluted pots chased with husk festoons and with similar borders and applied satyr's masks, with hinged covers smilarly chased and with foliate vase-shaped finials and detachable silver-gilt liners, prick-engraved with cyrillic inscription and inventory number, marked on stand and body
