Two young Herdsmen with Cattle by a Farm

De Rijk was active in his native town Hilversum, and is known to have travelled to Belgium and Bentheim just over the German border. The present drawing is a good example of his main subject, cattle. A comparable drawing is in the Amsterdams Historisch Museum.
