A pair of Imari hexagonal jars and covers
Circa 1700
Decorated in iron-red, gilt and underglaze blue with a continuous geometrically shaped panel enclosing Ho-o birds flying amongst pine, cherry-blossom, and peony, reserved on a blue ground enriched with quatrefoil panels of rabbits and flower heads, the domed covers with karashishi finials (some rubbing, one cover slightly warped)
