Hand-coloured engraved title and 59 hand-coloured double-page maps, with a hand-coloured engraved double-page alphabetical index of place names, by de Witt, Visscher, Allard, Danckerts and others, a plan of Amsterdam (not coloured) by Johannes de Ram; also bound in is a broadside containing 4 maps by Boyer. (Some maps with repairs along old folds, edges frayed with occasional losses, some trimmed to platemarks, browning and spotting, title-page trimmed to image.) Contemporary polished calf (worn and rebacked).
This collection of Jaillot maps comprises one twin hemispherical world map by C. Allard, 4 maps of America, 1 of the Near East, one of the Far East, and 52 of Europe and Russia. Bound with it is an UNRECORDED 18TH-CENTURY ENGLISH BROADSIDE entitled Exact and Accurate Plans of the Towns and Fortifications of Ostend, Newport, Dunkirk, and Winoxbergh by Mr Boyer, with 4 engraved plans of those towns, [London]: A. Baldwin, Warwick-Lane, 1706; not in ESTC. In 1701 Boyer's The draughts of the most remarkable fortified towns of Europe had been published with 44 copper-plates (ESTC t112446). Sold not subject to return.
