The case with handle to breakarch top, trellis-pierced gilt-brass sound frets to the sides, gilt-brass fillet to the front door, the silvered Roman and Arabic dial signed Thos. Earnshaw London, subsidiary calendar ring above VI, neatly pierced blued steel hands, strike/silent ring in the arch, the five pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement and strike on bell, the backplate engraved with flower heads within scrolling foliage and centred by an urn on a foliate pedestal; the backplate illustrated on page 97
