The case with substantial reeded handle to the foliate engraved top with large central glazed aperture with gilt-metal push repeat button, the case engraved overall with scrolling foliage and with heavy bevelled glasses to the sides and front, the solid gilt-metal rear door signed Barwise London beneath shuttered winding and hand-set holes and with regulation slide and strike/silent blued steel lever, the white enamel Roman chapter disc with subsidiary seconds ring at XII, blued steel Maltese cross hands, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with cut bi-metallic balance to large gilt lever platform, maintaining power, strike on blued steel gong of circular section; with original? red velvet-lined stand with elaborate heavily cast gilt-metal hairy paw feet
