The case with typical reeded handle to the top with large bevelled glass escapement viewing aperture with in-set push repeat button, bevelled glasses to the sides, the solid rear door with shuttered holes for winding, hand-set, regulation and strike/silent, the engraved silvered dial signed James Mc.Cabe Royal Exchange. London. 2771. beneath the Roman chapter ring with blued steel fleur de lys hands, subsidiary seconds ring at XII, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with large gilt platform with plain gilt balance to underslung lever escapement, maintaining power, strike/repeat on a blued steel gong on the backplate signed James Mc.Cabe London 2771; with original brass-framed mahogany travelling box with flush-fitting handle to the top, solid rear door to the back, the front with typical sliding centre section set with a hollow-cornered bone plaque signed James McCabe, Royal Exchange London. No. 2771
