A George III mahogany longcase clock
George Suggate, Halesworth; fourth quarter 18th century
The case with hollow-cornered panel to the plinth on bracket feet, brass-capped reeded ¼ columns to the breakarch trunk door, the hood with inset ebonised dentil mouldings flanking the door and surmounted by brass finials, the dial signed Geo. Suggate Halesworth within the Roman chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands with subsidiary seconds ring and calendar aperture, iron false plate stamped Walker & Hughes to the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement
