An Imari Five Piece Garniture
Edo Period (Late 17th Century)
The oviform vases and covers decorated in iron-red, green, aubergine and black enamels and gilt on underglaze blue with panels of hawks flying among chestnuts above hares cowering amongst grasses, the domed covers with panels of landscapes with karashishi finials, the trumpet vases similarly decorated, some old damage
The jars and covers approx. 18½in. (47cm.) high and the trumpet vases 12¼in. (31.8cm.) high
