Contemporary Dutch red morocco gilt, covers with border of double-fillet and dog-tooth roll enclosing rayed half wheels and fleurons, spines in six compartments with rasied bands, green morocco lettering-piece in the second, citron in the third, g.e. (spines chipped, and faded, joints weak). Provenance: Baron Gerard Meerman (1722-1771, armorial bookplate); William Beckford (Bernard Quaritch Hamilton Palace label, sale Sotheby's December 1882 lot 917); Henry J.B. Clements (armorial bookplate). First Pine edition, first issue with 'post est' reading (vol.II, p.108).
