A CALIFORNIA STYLE SPADE BIT

A mid 20th century silver steel spade bit, the inside cheekpiece hallmarked "EG *". The Santa Barbara style cheekpieces are silver inlaid and engraved in a foliage motif, the center concha surrounded with an intricate series of buttons, outlined with a scalloped edge. The mouthpiece features a spoon spade and a silver inlaid lip bar.
