The White Star Liner Adriatic was the fourth and last of the "Big Four", her sisters being Celtic, Cedric & Baltic. She was completed in 1907 with a gross tonnage of 24,541 and could accomodate 425 First, 500 Second and 2,000 Third Class passengers attended by 560 crew. Designed for comfort and reliability rather than speed, she cruised at a statley 16 knots. She was broken up in Japan in 1934.

Captain Smith (Late of Titanic) was master of Adriatic from her maiden voyage until his transfer to Olympic in 1911.
