A 2¾-inch (7cm.) diameter hollow wooden terrestrial miniature globe, with lead-filled interior and flattened base (no Antarctic), made up of twelve and a half coloured engraved gores, the equatorial ungraduated, the continents outlined in green and orange, showing rivers, deserts and some cities, the text in French, with seperate turned fruitwood base -- 3½in. (8.9cm.) high; and a late 19th-Century German starfinder, DER STERNENHIMMEL ZU JEDER STUNDE DES JAHRES AUDGABE FÜR MITTEL-EUROPA ESCHZEHNTE AUFLAGE, the punched leather sleeve with gilt tooling and hours 1-12 labelled twice, running anti-clockwise, the star map on a fixed revolving disc printed with constellations connected by lines and stars to five orders of magnitude, the rim printed with days, months and information relating to the rising and setting of the sun, the reverse applied with instructions in German (some abrasions rendering portions illegible) -- 10in.
