The Empire style case with ball finials and on bun feet, with reeded pilasters to each angle, bevelled glass side panels and rear door, with handle issuing from lion masks, with front door to the foliate scroll engraved mask signed FREDERIC SCHERER London, recessed silvered dial with conforming engraving to the centre and plain Roman chapter ring bisected at XII by a seconds dial with matted recessed centre and at VI by a conforming date ring, with blued moon hands, the single barrel front-winding movement with gilt platform to duplex escapement with cut bimetallic balance, with part skeletonized backplate
