A French brass grande sonnerie carriage clock with alarm
probably drugeon, no.8797. last quarter 19th century
The cannelee case with engine-turned gilt mask to the white enamel Roman dial, blued hands, with alarm dial below, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform stamped GV to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate stamped MD, probably for Drugeon, and numbered 8797, with three-position selection lever to the base
