The anglaise riche case with gadrooned angles and ripple galleries, the sides mounted with enamel side panels painted respectively with a soldier with pike and a lady with a fan, each in Renaissance costume, the panels both signed by the artist Favony, the dial painted with scene of a castle wall and moat at night, applied with a gilt-metal Roman chapter ring with pierced mount to the centre, blued hands, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to the bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate with white enamel alarm disc, numbered 2490, with three position adjustment lever to the base; the functions inscribed in Spanish
