A Left-Hand Dagger
Circa 1600
With sharply-pointed fluted blade of stiff diamond section, the hilt with long slender quillons swelling towards the tips and curved forwards, small side-ring and oval fluted pommel, encrusted throughout in silver with slender scrollwork and dots (rubbed), and wooden grip with binding of fine silver wire within a silver caul (damaged), in leather scabbard covered with red velvet (worn, some damage), with iron mouth-locket chased with scrollwork and dots partly heightened with silver, and with suspension loop
