The locks and barrels by John Manton, London, circa 1785
With signed browned twist sighted barrels, the signatures reading towards the breeches, each with gold breech line and gold-lined vent, signed case-hardened flat bevelled locks each with stepped tail, blued safety-catch and steel-spring, engraved grooved case-hardened tangs, figured walnut half-stocks, chequered saw-handled butts each with flat oval pommel inset with a silver oval, engraved blued iron spur trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, original horn-tipped ramrods, and some original finish, London proof marks
