Lot Essay

Clear crystals are used on the planet Krypton to store information and are seen in both Superman and Superman IV, when they are used to activate the Kryptonian memory bank. The opaque crystals can be seen at the beginning of Superman, most noticably on the base of the spacecraft on which Jor-El [Marlon Brando] places the infant Superman (Kal-El) before sending him to Earth.
