A finely engineered mainly bronze model four pillar single cylinder beam engine 'Mary'
built by Puryean Steam Engines with cylinder ¾in. bore x 2½in. stroke, centrally mounted valve chest with draincock, main stop and governor valves, studded stuffing boxes, barrelled radius and anchor links, the beam running in split brasses in pierced trunnions mounted on an entablature supported on four parallel 'doric' columns, rod driven dummy feed pump, fluted, barrelled connecting rod with gibbed and cottered big and little ends, belt and gear driven Watt-type governor and linkage and spoked flywheel, finished in blue, black and polished brightwork and mounted on a planked floor with railings, display base -- 14 x 17¾in. (35.5 x 45.6cm.)
