A finely engineered exhibition standard 1in.:1ft scale model of a Sanderson 12hp single cylinder beam engine of 1846,
built by A. Walshaw from Clarkson castings, the cylinder .7/8in. bore x 2½in. stroke, parallel motion with barrelled anchor and drop links, the cast beam supported on a single fluted column and running in split bearings, rod driven dummy feed pump, barrelled fluted connecting rod, webbed crank, 'lift-off' eccentric rod, gear driven dummy governor, spoked flywheel and multi-rope pulley, finished in red, black and polished brightwork and mounted on a planked floor with hand rails in an ebonised display base -- 15¾ x 22½in. (40 x 57cm.)
