A CARVED AND PAINTED ANIMAL FIGURE
American, probably Pennsylvania, 19th century
Red-painted with black spots and carved in the form of a mythical savage kangaroo about to pounce, with long undulating tail, long back feet, raised front feet, long curving neck and grinning mouth with carved teeth and tongue, the head with carved beaded eyes and applied pointed ears.
28in. high, 49in. wide, 5in. deep
