The first of rectangular form decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, kimpun, kirigane and mother-of-pearl inlay on a vermillion lacquer ground, modelled as a miniature book of the Tale of Genji, the lid with a title slip depicting a group of cranes in flight among clouds, the interior nashiji, the second modelled as a shitadashi Sambaso dancer, the revolving head, hands, feet and a fan in ivory, the robe decorated in gold and iro-e hiramaki-e, nashiji, gyobu and gold foil
