The hood with stepped flat top and outset columns, with cross-banded border to the trunk and to the breakarch trunk door, conforming decoration to the plinth raised on a wavy skirting, the 12in. square brass dial with urn and bird spandrels to the brass chapter ring signed Ashton Tideswell, matted centre with subsidiary recessed seconds disc (later hand) and arched date aperture, blued steel hands, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; replaced seatboard
