A 13.3/8 inch (34cm.) diameter celestial globe, made up of twelve printed and coloured paper gores, the constellations shown in grey, blue and shown as mythical beasts, figures and scientific instruments, stars by magnitude, with engraved brass meridian circle, hour ring the octagonal framed horizon circle decorated with Zodiac and calendar scales, neoclassical and other figures raised on a ebonised wood stand, the central pilar with tripod legs, united by stretchers, incorporating a compass in the centre, brackets in the back, (old damage vertical split, some minor surface abrasions, small paper loss)
