A CONTINENTAL PARCEL-GILT SILVER MONSTRANCE
Probably German, mid 18th century, twice marked S over AZ
The raised oval base chased with alternate panels of stylized foliage or strapwork, on stippled ground, the part decorated knoped stem supporting "sun ray" oval frame, with silver openwork frame on top composed of rocaille scrolls and shells, applied with eight colored glass facet cut glass beads, the innermost frame composed of sun rays and enclosing a glass covered compartment--11in. (27.9cm.) high, gross weight 10oz.
