(Title and all but the last preface leaf detached, some resultant small tears to inner margins of these leaves, occasional spotting.) Contemporary half calf (worn, covers detached).
The original intention was to publish the complete text of the Shahnamah in 8 volumes, but only the present volume appeared. The work was revised by Maulawi Allah-Dad, Muza Mahdi and others under the direction of Mathew Lumsden.
