Lot Essay

A note with this set reads:
"An American 3-valve set with no indication of the manufacturer. From its appearance it could have been made by the de Forest company and probably dates from about 1921.
With a detector and two audio stages, it has unusually elaborate tuning circuits and there are jack sockets whereby alternative tuning components could be substituted and the output of the various stages monitored.
This leads one to suppose that it may have been constructed as a laboratory test bed for experimental development of receiver circuitry."
