probably for an Ekco Model AC74 (designed by Chermayeff), in chromium-plated steel tubing of simple, counterbalanced design -- 26in. (66cm.) high, the top supports 9in. (24.5cm.) apart

Lot Essay

Few examples of this stand are known; this one was bought, with its receiver, late in 1932 to celebrate the birth of a son. The set was subsequently disposed of separately, but the stand has remained in the original owner's family.
