This is an early and unique piece, purchased directly from the artist. Like the 'Rolling Volume' designed in the same year the 'Chaise Very Longue' has a lead balancing weight which causes it to swing into a vertical position when not in use.
This subversion of the norm is exacerbated by the contrast of the polished edges and the patinated seat, the gleamimg yet jagged profile that is both alluring and somewhat disconcerting.
