A famille rose 'European Subject' plate
Circa 1740
Painted in the Meissen-style with a central lobed cartouche depicting a a fisherman standing behind a wooden barrel of herring recommending his catch to a couple of other men, reserved on gilt scrollwork, the rim with three cartouches containing three different Dutch landscapes between iron-red and puce scrollwork panels (some rubbing to the gilt)
