A Meissen fabeltiere cup and saucer
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords marks, indistinct Pressnummer to saucer
The cup of tall slender cylindrical form with a slightly everted lip, painted in the manner of Adam Friedrich von Lwenfinck with an exotic goat rearing up on its hind legs, flanked by flowers and shrubs issuing from rockwork and birds and insects in flight, the saucer similarly decorated, brown line rims (minute wear to enamel of rim of cup and to enamels of goat on saucer)
