The foliate cast case of typical form with engraved and pierced brass rear door and folding ring handle to the top, the base on ball-and-claw feet, the circular white enamel Arabic dial with gilt brass Breguet hands, central alarm disc and regulation sector above, the movement comprised of three sections; the going train immediately behind the dial with pillar plate stamped 711 and having a chain fusee to the verge escapement with the bridgecock and alarm spring barrel held within the central sub-plate assembly, the outer rear assembly carrying the strike and alarm trains, the backplate mounted with the steel rack-work and bell with two hammers, the backplate stamped H L B
