A PAIR OF GOLD-GROUND KESI CHAIR COVERS

The gold ground woven with an upper register with a peach sprig, shou character and four bats in flight above a phoenix standing on rockwork with one leg, beneath cloud swirls and a leafy tree entwined with peony and bamboo, the lower register with a large single peony spray above a writhing dragon clambering up a mountain top immersed in a sea of crested waves in pursuit of a flaming pearl, all in multi-coloured kesi on gold ground, framed with stylised guei dragons
