Edo Period (18th Century)
The russet iron mask boldly forged with deep repousse wrinkles, the nose detachable with hooks and fitted with rings on the cheeks for the helmet cord, beneath the chin are two well shaped pegs whilst the narrow mouth has iron teeth, interior lacquered gold, the two lame throat defence of true lamellae [hon kozane] is black lacquered, laced with printed doe skin and is attached to the helmet by a broad strip of printed doe skin
