The simple iron bowl of five-plates, black lacquered and fitted with a five stage tehen kanamono, the neckguard of five lames in black lacquered iron laced in red spaced lacing, fukigayeshi black lacquered with gilt fukurin and a shakudo mon, fitted with striking crests, the large gilt metal fore crest [mayedate] modelled in the form of a precious wheel [rimbo] whilst the rear crest [ushirodate] is a single hawk feather of gold and black lacquered leather
