Hanau or Neuchatel, circa 1830, with the 1904-1906 and post-1906 London importation marks
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover inset with a rectangular enamel panel finely painted with a Biblical scene depicting Moses with his wand presenting a cross-bow to a young man and two girls, within a raised stamped two-colour gold leaf border with translucent red, blue and green enamelled scrolling corners, the four side and base panels engine-turned with a scalework pattern centred by floral motifs within frosted reserves, three-colour gold flower-filled urns at corners
