maker's mark of Fouquet Lapar, Paris, circa 1900
On oval fluted stand with raised centre, beaded border and scrolling acanthus leaves handles, the tureen on spreading beaded base, the partly-fluted body with a large band chased with plain panels and applied with two vacant foliate cartouches, the detachable domed cover with similar motif and foliate baluster finial with foliage calyx, marked on stand, handles, body and cover and stamped FOUQUET LAPAR PARIS on stand and tureen
