maker's mark of John Mortimer and John Samuel Hunt, London, 1842
Pear-shaped, comprising a tea-kettle, stand and lamp, coffee-jug, stand and lamp, teapot, two hot-milk jugs and two-handled sugar-bowl and cover, the kettle-stand on four shell feet, the circular coffee-jug stand with pierced sides and detachable plain lamp, the teapot, jugs and bowl each on four scroll feet, the domed covers with detachable flower finials, the sides chased with foliate scrolls and panels of flowers and foliage, the stands each engraved with a crest, one with the cypher JWL, fully marked, some pieces stamped 'MORTIMER AND HUNT' all in fitted oak case
