Two comparable battle drawings by Le Paon are in the Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, H. Loilier, Dessins du XVIIIe sicle, exhib. cat, Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, nos. 24-5. The drawings depict the Battle of Nordlingen of 1649 and the Battle of Fribourg of 1644, and are related to pictures commissioned for the Palais Bourbon.
